Zachary Smolar, Founder
Zachary Smolar is a writer and the founder of Lost Borscht Productions. As a creative executive at Toei Doga Entertainment, the US division of Toei Animation, he has worked on large scale international productions in both creative development and production roles.
As a screenwriter, he has adapted the Korean-language romance film Always for Convergence Entertainment, and his work has been recognized by the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, the Black List, and a number of international film festivals.
He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University where he was a coordinator of the Ivy Film Festival, the largest student-run film festival in the world, and earned his MFA from NYU Tisch School of Arts. He is from Pittsburgh, PA, but does not root for the Steelers.
